Peptides, plainly explained.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins like collagen. In skin care, certain peptides are used in formulas to help skin look smoother and feel more comfortable when used consistently.
What peptides are not: they are not injections or drugs. A cream is one part of a steady routine that includes daily SPF.
The peptides we use
Copper tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu)
A copper-binding peptide used in skin care to help skin look smooth and even. Found in our Copper Veil Renewal Cream.
Palmitoyl tripeptide-1 & tetrapeptide-7
"Matrixyl-type" signal peptides used to help skin look firmer and plumper. The core of our Midnight Matrix Recovery Cream.
Acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argireline)
A peptide used to help soften the look of expression lines around the eyes. Found in our Lumen Lift Eye Cream.
Palmitoyl tripeptide-5
A peptide used to support comfortable, resilient-looking skin. The lead in our Skin Fortress Barrier Cream.
The supporting cast
Ceramides, squalane and glycerin keep the skin barrier comfortable. Niacinamide helps even the look of tone. Hyaluronic acid draws in surface moisture. Each is chosen to make the peptides easier to live with.
Using them well
- Apply to clean skin, morning and night.
- Be consistent: skin care works best as a daily habit.
- Use SPF 30+ every morning.
- Patch test first if your skin is sensitive.
